Shaykh-ul-Islam Pr. Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

A man of multiple and surprising achievements, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is the beginning leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI), an organization with branches and centre’s in more than 90 countries around the world, functioning for the promotion of peace and love between different communities and the renewal of spiritual effort based on the true teachings of Islam.

Shaykh-ul-Islam is a researcher of extraordinary proportions and an intellectual leader in every profession of life. He is a living model of thoughtful classical knowledge, intellectual illumination, practical wisdom, pure spirituality, love, harmony and humanism. He is famous for his enthusiastic Endeavour to make stronger bonds among people, by bring them together through tolerance, dialogue, integration and education. He effectively bridges the past with his reflection of the future and finds realistic solutions for contemporary troubles. He has been teaching Hadis, Tafsir, Fiqah, Theology, Sufism, Seerah, Islamic philosophy and many other subject which is based on reasons  and traditional sciences to thousands of people, including Ulama, scholars, Shayukh, students, intellectuals in the east and the west.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri was born on 19 february, 1951 in the historical city of Pakistan, in Jhang, and He is the son of the vast spiritualist and intellectual of his time Al-Shaykh Dr. Fareed-ud-Din Qadri. He had completed his education of Islamic and secular sciences concurrently, While he already started his religious education under his father two years earlier, his official education was initiated in Madina Pak at the age of 12, in “Madrasa-al-Ulum ash-Shar‘iyya”, which was located in the holy house of Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari (R.A), the first residence of the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) after his relocation. With the passage of time he had received a First Class Honors Degree from the University of the Punjab in 1970, and completed his traditional Islamic Studies, having spent ten years under the guidance of his father and other well-known Shuyukh of that time and achieving an unmatched understanding of the classical sharia sciences and Arabic language. He did his MA in Islamic Studies in 1972 from University of Punjab Gold Medal, achieved his LLB in 1974 and begin to perform as a lawyer in the district court of Jhang. He went to Lahore in 1978 and joined the University of Punjab as a lecturer in law then got his PhD in Islamic Law. He was also a member of the association, Senate and Academic Council of the University of Punjab, the highest executive, administrative and academic bodies of University.

With in short time, he emerged as the leading power of Islamic jurist, researcher and revivalist of the Islamic thought. He was selected as a legal adviser of Islamic commandment for the Supreme Court and the Federal Sharia Court of Pakistan and worked as a special consultant on Islamic curriculum for the Federal Ministry of Education of Pakistan at different times among 1983 and 1987. In 1980s, number of historical judgments in the legal and constitution of Pakistan were passed by the Federal Sharia Court and the Appellate Sharia counter, Supreme Court of Pakistan as a result of Shaykh-ul-Islam’s juristic point of views, documented in the Pakistan Legal Decisions (PLD’s) and Pakistan Legal Judgments (PLJ’s).

He is a previous Professor of Islamic Law at University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, and the youngest person has been awarded a professorship in the history of University. Shaykh-ul-Islam has previously held the place of the Head of Department for LLM in Islamic Legislation.

Shaykh-ul-Islam founded Minhaj-ul-Quran in 1981 and established it’s headquarter in Lahore. less than 30 years, Minhaj-ul-Quran has expanded and spread over more than 90 countries around the world, in term of its broad and grand specialty of activities, educational, social, cultural and spiritual, Minhaj-ul-Qur’an is most likely one of the largest non-government organization in the world.

Shaykh-ul-Islam addresses Peace and Milad Conference in USA

North American Muslim’s and Minhaj-ul-Quran International USA hosted a grand Peace for civilization and Milawd-un-Nabi (PBUH) conference at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New York on June 3, 2012. The organizer and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was the fundamental presenter at the event.


The first meeting of the conference was focused on inter faith agreement in which representatives from other faiths also participated. This session was conducted in English, highlighting Islamic point of views on peace as well as underscores the need for tolerance acceptance and mutual understanding among followers of different faiths. In this meeting, Shaykh-ul-Islam delivered a very comprehensive speech for mentions true Islam’s message of peace and love for the human being.  In his address, he said that Islam is the only religion who stands for peace and harmony in the world.

Put light on the exact meaning of the word ‘Islam’, Shaykh-ul-Islam expand the broader background and urged the followers of different faiths to stand up for shared objective of peace in the world. He said that the humanity had shared stakes in future and it enjoined upon all of them irrespective of any favoritism of any kind to stand up for combined interests of humanity and take every possible step to defend the human values and human       rights.

The other session, which was in Urdu, started off with the Quranic recitation by the well-known and world-renowned Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali. It was followed by beautiful naats and nasheeds by Qari Noor Muhammad Jarral, Milad Raza Qadri, and many other famous naat readers. In the end, Shaykh-ul-Islam delivered a outstanding and very comprehensive speech on the importance of respect of Holy Prophet (PBUH) by quoting the references from Holy Quran and Hadith’s.

Thousands of people attended the conference from all over the US. There were also a large amount of people from Canada and UK. Many believed that it was the biggest Milawd conference ever held in the North America. Even Qari Noor Muhammad Jarral, a world-renowned Qari and Naat Reciters declared the conference to be the biggest Milawd conference that he has never ever attended in the United States before.

 

  The venue, The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum is the quarters of the NHL New York Islanders and Long Island’s Premier Concert Venue. It has a large seating stadium of approximately 18,000. This conference was publicized live on 11 Indian cable channels and it was publicized live on Minhaj TV and Minhaj USA TV.

Budget 2012 Pakistan

This was the first time in Pakistan’s record that a democratic government presented its fifth national budget during its time. The cost of entire budget for 2012-13 has     been        expected at Rs3.203    trillion.

Budgetary proposal comprise the creation of one hundred thousand latest jobs in the economy, special measures to address the consequent energy crisis and the production of water reservoirs and infrastructure like transportation, road and railway networks across the country. But the question arise in mind’s that these new ‘special measures’ are will be exposed with Friday’s budget speech.

Additionally, our government claims that there is no new tax will be forced in the budget and relief would be given to everybody, while government employees are    also   expected        to     get    raise  in      their  salaries.

Ministry of finance on Thursday launched the Economic Survey of Pakistan 2011-2012 — a pre-budget document gives value the overall presentation of the economy during leaving        the fiscal    year.

The government claims to get growth in Fiscal year 2012-13 through development in output and competitiveness, market reforms, promote cities as regional clusters, and reform civil service institutions and public sector enterprises.

According to in depth analysis, 3.7% GDP growth has been achieved in outgoing fiscal year as compared to previous year’s target of 4.2%. In the meantime, the growth of GDP target for the upcoming year will be set at 4.3%, and fiscal shortfall has been targeted at 4.7 % of GDP.

Farming and agriculture growth during the fiscal year 2012-13 is expected at 4 %, manufacturing at 4.1% whereas the services sector will grow up at 4.6%.

The developmental budget was approved at Rs.873 billion for Public Sector Development Program’s (PSDP) for the year 2012-13, with Rs.360 billion as Federal part and     Rs.513 billion provincial  parts.

In the PSDP allocations, main concern has been given to water and power sector, in addition emphasizing on social sector health, education and poverty mitigation, claims the finance      ministry.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) grows up to around 10.8% during the year as against 13.7% during the previous year, while it is now targeted at 9.5 %.
